Photovoltaik und Energieerzeugung
 
           Nach den Daten der International Energy Agency (IEA) betrug die weltweit installierte Leistung
           von photovoltaischen Solarzellen Ende 2000 nur ca. 725,8 MW. Das waren lediglich 0,1 % der
           installierten Leistung von Wasserkraftanlagen (693,7 GW).
           Die wichtigsten Solaranlagen befanden sich zu jenem Zeitpunkt in folgenden Ländern:
           Japan              330,2 MW
           USA                138,8 MW
           Deutschland        113,8 MW
           Australien         029,2 MW
           Italien            019,0 MW
           Andere             094,8 MW
           Aber seit dem Jahr 2000 beträgt die jährliche Steigerung der installierten Leistung von Photo-
           voltaikanlagen weltweit ca. 35 %
           2001               0989,5 MW         36,3 %
           2002               1336,6 MW         35,1 %
           2003               1798,7 MW         34,6 %
           Damit ist die Steigerungsrate der installierten Leistung von Solaranlagen noch beträchtlich grö-
           ßer als die von Windanlagen.
           Die aktuellen Trends gehen nun in Richtung größerer Solarkrafteinheiten. So wird gegenwärtig
           in Portugal ein Photovoltaik-Kraftwerk mit einer installierten Leistung von 62 MW geplant.
           Außerdem kommt auch eine intensivere Nutzung der Solarthermie in Schwung. Ein gutes Bei-
           spiel dafür ist das solarthermische Kraftwerk Nevada Solar One, das zur Zeit gebaut wird.

           According to the data of the International Energy Agency (IEA) the worldwide installed photo-
           voltaic solar cells had at the end of 2000 only a total power of ca. 725.8 MW.
           These represented merely 0.1 % of the installed water power (693.7 GW).
           The most important solar power plants were located at that time in the following countries:
           Japan              330.2 MW
           USA                138.8 MW
           Germany            113.8 MW
           Australia          029.2 MW
           Italy              019.0 MW
           Others             094.8 MW
           But since the year 2000 the worldwide installed photovoltaic power is growing at a yearly rate
           of ca. 35 %:
           2001               0989.5 MW         36.3 %
           2002               1336.6 MW         35.1 %
           2003               1798.7 MW         34.6 %
           Therewith the growing rate of the installed solar power is still considerably higher than that of
           wind power plants.
           The newest trends now are going in the direction of larger solar power units. So presently in
           Portugal is planned a photovoltaic power station with an installed power of 62 MW.
           Besides a more intensive use of the solar thermic gets also momentum. A good example to it
           is the solar thermic power plant Nevada Solar One, which is under construction.
