Italien $_1.836 Mrd. Japan $_ 4.799 Mrd. Spanien $_1.120 Mrd. Deutschl. $_ 3.045 Mrd. Kanada $_1.098 Mrd. Großbrit. $_ 2.373 Mrd. Brasilien $_1.067 Mrd. China $_ 2.279 Mrd. Russland $_1.000 Mrd. Frankr. $_ 2.216 Mrd. Indien $_ 887 Mrd. Economic Development The economic development of each country has to be seen in connection with a corresponding increase of energetic resources for industry, trafic, agriculture and electric power generation. The energy consumption rises ca. proportionally with the intensifiation of the economic activity. The development stage of a country is expressed by its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In the following table are listet the GDP-values 2006 for the principal countries: USA $_13,487 Mrd. Italia $_1,836 Mrd. Japan $_ 4,799 Mrd. Spain $_1,120 Mrd. Germany $_ 3,045 Mrd. Canada $_1,098 Mrd. U.Kingdom $_ 2,373 Mrd. Brasil $_1,067 Mrd. China $_ 2,279 Mrd. Russia $_1,000 Mrd. France $_ 2,216 Mrd. India $_ 887 Mrd. In this table can be found industrialized nations as well as greater developing countries. We can get a clear image about the development of a country if we divide the GDP through the number of inhabitants. So, for example, the US (population of ca. 300 Mill.) has a GDP of 44,957 $ per capita. In the case of China (ca. 1,300 Mill. inhabitants) we calculate only a value of 1,753 $ per capita. Therefrom it is foreseeable that, in the next decades, the additio- nal energy demand will be much higher in China than in the United States. On the other hand the de facto development rate of the different countries will be influenced by the available energetic resources, and the dispute for these resources will get tougher. It is clear that the conventional fossil fuels alone cannot assure the further development of the mankind. Therefore the first priority is to use new technologies for the large deployment of re- generative energies in the economy. |
